This is a fun mashup between banana pudding and a sundae. You Ould even get the kids involved with this. Grilling the banana adds a little flavor, while charring the vanilla wafers makes for an interesting texture—together, it’s delicious. Banana pudding ice cream pulls everything together, so it’s definitely worth buying.
Ingredients
- 4large, ripe bananas
- 1 cup vanilla wafers (about 1 1/2 oz.)
- 3 cups banana pudding-flavored ice cream (such as Blue Bell)
- 1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 3 tablespoons bottled caramel sauce
- 3 tablespoons bottled chocolate sauce
- 4maraschino cherries
How to Make It
Step 1
Preheat grill to medium-high (400°F to 450°F). Make a long cut through the skin on the concave side of each banana, and pull peel apart slightly. Place bananas, cut-side up, in a grill basket. Grill, uncovered, until banana is warmed through and peel is mostly black, about 10 minutes. Remove bananas; set aside. Add vanilla wafers to basket, and grill until cookies get slightly charred, about 1 minute.
Step 2
Divide ice cream evenly among 4 bowls. Peel bananas, and cut each diagonally into 5 pieces. Top ice cream with bananas, whipped topping, caramel sauce, and chocolate sauce. Coarsely break up vanilla wafers, and sprinkle over bowls. Top with cherries.
