Marks and Spencer brings back £4 Christmas food favourite for shoppers to enjoy right now

Marks and Spencer, or M&S, is known for its luxurious food and indulgent treats. The retailer has brought back its Extra Thick Salted Caramel Cream from the Christmas range, but this could cause controversy among shoppers due to the festive association it carries.

While many stores have closed during the coronavirus crisis, Marks and Spencer Foodhalls have remained open.

A statement explained: “Our M&S Foodhalls are open for you and your community.

“All of our standalone food stores and Foodhalls in larger stores are open so you can get the food that you need.

“Our outlet stores that only sell clothing and home are temporarily closed.”

As well as offering everything Britons needs for their essential food shop, the retailer has constantly been adding to its range.

This week, M&S has brought back a treat that proved to be popular in the winter months.

Shoppers can pick up the Extra Thick Salted Caramel Cream, which was a favourite from the stores range at Christmas.

While many will be eager to tuck into the sweet treat, it may not be for everyone.

Some fans of the retailer may be less keen to fill up on a Christmas staple in the warmer weather.

For those not sure of how the treat would work in the summer, M&S offered their tips.

The retail giant explained the Salted Caramel Cream works at any time of the year.

It said: “Our Collection Extra Thick Salted Caramel Cream was a top seller over the festive season and is guaranteed to make pretty much anything taste incredible – at any time of year.”

The retailer recommended pouring the cream over a slice of summer cheesecake and serving alongside any desserts.

The product will be available to buy for £3.50 for a 200 gram pack.

The company has also announced the return of another fan favourite to upgrade desserts this summer.

Returning from last year, the Pink Gin Cream has made a return to stores.

M&S said: “We’re also joined by yet another comeback from last summer, the Pink Gin Cream which is ideal for slathering over those summer berries and topping with a handful of crushed meringue for the perfect DIY Eton mess.”

The dessert topper was released last summer and proved so popular it has been brought back.

The items can be picked up by customers if making an essential trip to the supermarket.
