The supermarket chain, Morrisons, has seen one of its products being recalled due to allergy fears. Those who have been shopping in-store or online are being urged to check their fridges and freezers for the affected items.
- Veggie burger sold at Tesco and Asda recalled over undeclared milk
The food safety warning issued refers to two of the Miami Burger products – which are sold in Morrisons – as the items were found to contain milk which is not listed on the packaging.
This could cause a serious health risk for anyone who has recently bought the products and has an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
The Food Standard Agency (FSA) website said: “Miami Burger is recalling the Miami Burger True Veg Burgers and Classic Miami Burgers because they may contain milk which is not mentioned on their labels.
“This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”
A statement on the FSA website reads: “If you have bought the [Miami Burger] products and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents do not consume them.
“Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.”
The product details affected by the recall are below:
- Mars chocolate recall: Popular chocolates recalled over metal fears
Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products.
These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
The official notice states: “We are recalling the following products because we have found that one batch has a small trace of Milk in the product.
“If you have brought this product with the affected batch code then please return the product to the store (with or without receipt) and you will be given a full refund.
“For more information please contact: [email protected].”
No other Morrisons or Miami Burger products are known to be affected.
