Though some authors and linguists have argued that “cellar door” is the most elegantly beautiful two word phrase in the English language, I’d argue instead that “free pizza” is even better. Given that October is apparently National Pizza Month, you can expect that word to be tossed around quite a bit in the weeks ahead.
For one such example emerging on the first day of the month, look no further than an enticing deal proffered by none other than Pizza Hut. The chain with pizza in its name and a number of closing sitdown locations is giving away $20 worth of free pizza every day in October in the form of a gift card.
The only catch is that you have to use Reddit, the internet’s go-to source for animal photos and posts about strangers’ weird relationship drama, to win it. Head on over to r/Random_Acts_of_Pizza and comment in the daily thread that Pizza Hut’s account has created in order to enter yourself in the drawing.

There seem to be a lot of restrictions, however. As a pinned comment on the October 1st post notes, you must have an account that’s at least 90 days old, which has at least 400 comment “karma”, and “you must have consistent productive activity for at least 90 days to be eligible for this contest.” So in essence, you’re out of luck if you’re not already the kind of person who wastes their time on Reddit pretty much daily.
If you do meet those stringent qualifications, however, this pizza giveaway is surely welcome news. After all, if you’re already going to post online every day, you might as well try and parlay that into a free stuffed Cheez-It pizza. May the best Redditor win.
