This Is Hands Down the Best Boxed Wine You Can Buy

Redvolution 1

If you’re a casual wine drinker and you think you’re somehow above the boxed stuff, I have one question for you: What are you trying to prove?

It’s no secret that I love boxed wine. I’ve written about this very specific passion time and time again.

Before you turn up your nose and close this article, hear me out: I get that it’s not for everyone. For instance, if you’re a sommelier or a lifelong vinter, you might have a pretty refined palate that is able to detect nuances that only exist in $50+ bottles. That’s fine.

HOWEVER, if you are a person who regularly consumes and enjoys $12 bottles from the middle shelf at Trader Joe’s, you need to come on down off your high horse and join the freakin’ dark side.

Boxed wine tastes as good as—if not better than—your average affordable bottled wine.

Not only that, but it’s generally cheaper (most boxes give you the equivalent of four bottles for about $20) and always better for the environment (less packaging means less waste).

For the last few months, I’ve been on a mission to find the best boxes money can buy. My hesitant-but-open-minded coworkers and I tasted our way through dozens of boxes to find the best boxed rosé, pinot grigio, and pinot noir.

We could keep going. There are plenty of other varieties out there, and certainly plenty of good boxes.

But why bother? I already know and regularly drink the absolute best boxed wine on the market.

My friends, let me introduce you to a little something called Bota Box RedVolution:

This fruity, oaky, and full-bodied red blend is without a doubt the best boxed wine I’ve ever had. I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I’ve had a lot of boxed wine.

“Bota Box RedVolution reveals rich aromas of black cherry, cocoa and a hint of spice,” according to the product description. “Extending into lush flavors of dark fruit, cherry and toasty oak, this smooth, full-bodied wine culminates into a juicy, well-balanced finish.”

I don’t know much about winespeak, but let me just say: Ditto.

Here’s what some of our testers had to say:

  • “Sweet and smooth. The juicy cherry notes really stand out. I’m really impressed that this is a boxed wine, and the eco-friendly packaging makes me want to buy it.”
  • “Nice and fruity without being overbearing.”
  • “Imagine sipping this while eating dark chocolate. Yes and yes.”
  • “It’s just so drinkable! Light, but not too light. Fruity, but not too fruity.”

Bota Box recommends you enjoy RedVolution with grilled lamb, wild mushroom pizza, or penne pasta with fresh tomato sauce.

As for me? I think it pairs pretty damn well with Netflix and a face mask.
