Disney California Adventure Will Open For A Limited-Time Food And Beverage Event Starting In March

Disney California Adventure will open on select dates starting in early spring for a ticketed food and beverage event.
In a letter to Disneyland cast members obtained by multiple outlets including The Orange County Register, Disneyland president Ken Potrock said that the event is planned to begin in mid-March and would be an “all-new, limited-time ticketed experience, focused on our world-famous food and beverage offerings from around the resort, the latest merchandise and unique, carefully crafted entertainment experiences.” The event is also expected to take place multiple times every week, though dates have not been publicly set yet.
The parks will be bringing 700 Disney cast members back to work, The Register reported. This is in addition to the 230 cast members who have already been back to work on the park’s Buena Vista Street. The area opened for guests to shop and eat back in November 2020.
Disneyland’s parks have been largely closed to theme park goers since March 2020. Though this event will allow guests to return to the park, it will be a bit different from their typical Disney experience. The rides will not be operating and there won’t be any parades or other traditional attractions. Obviously, there will also be increased COVID-19 safety measures, as there have been at the other Disney parks, CNN Business.
“With limited capacity and enhanced health and safety measures in place, guests once again will get to step into a magical Disney environment—an environment that will provide memorable and fun experiences our guests are craving,” he wrote in the letter.
More details about the event, including a name, prices, and how to obtain tickets (as well as what food will be available!), are expected to be announced as we get closer to an opening date.
