Fans of the Minions characters may have to wait a little longer to see the sequel film, Minions: The Rise of Gru, but that doesn’t mean you won’t see the little ones around leading up to its 2021 release. Adding to the ever-growing list of Minion-inspired food—including Oreos, Teddy Grahams, Popsicles and Vanilla Cake Cereal (yes, please!) options—the lovable characters have become the face of the longtime Jello-O brand. And yes, we’re totally thrilled about it!
Instagrammer @dadbodsnacks posted a photo of the two new flavors recently after running across them on the aisles of the midwest superstore Meijer. And while it’s clear that he’s gone bananas over the deliciously sounding Banana Pudding flavor, there’s also a Berry Blue gelatin flavor available, too. You know, so you can truly have options. “Let’s get excited for the fact that we have a Minions branded food that’s BANANA! I don’t fully get the berry blue @jello and if it’s connected to the movie or not, but we KNOW the banana is and forever will be,” the caption touted.
Don’t immediately run out to your grocery store to pick up a pack of the goodies just yet, though. According to another food-centered account by the name of @frontpagefoodfinds who commented on the post, you may find yourself embarking on a quest to find them. “I’m having the hardest time finding the Banana Pudding,” she cried.
So while you may be ready to taste all the Minion-y (is that even a word?) goodness that Jell-O is putting down, you might have to wait a little longer to get it. Here’s hoping that the newest releases become available everywhere soon.
