EastEnders icon Natalie Cassidy has lost a whopping three stone over the years, slimming down from a size 16 to a size eight after overhauling her lifestyle. So what changes did she make in order to lose weight?
Natalie’s go-to treats that she considered her “downfall” included cheese, crisps and dips.
But she forced herself to give them up in order to shed some weight, and she soon noticed a difference.
Despite removing them from her diet, cheese is often found on weight loss plans as it is a great source of calcium, fat, and protein and contains high amounts of vitamins A and B12, along with zinc and phosphorus.
One study suggests including calcium-rich low-fat dairy in low-calorie meals may actually help people shed a little weight while also protecting their bone health.
While cheese can be good for people it must be eaten in moderation as it is often high in saturated fat and salt, which can lead to high cholesterol among other health issues.
A close friend of the Sonia Fowler actress told Now magazine she had also “sworn off takeouts” in a bid to shape up.
Not only that, but she also revealed she has given up drinking as much alcohol.
Natalie told The Sun: “I cut out rubbish. I cut down on alcohol too, even though I love white wine.”
Alcohol is full of hidden calories, which all add up when it comes to a person’s daily limit.

An average-sized glass of white wine contains around 82 calories, whereas one pint of beer contains an average of 208 calories.
Cutting out booze means cutting out those hidden calories which can lead to improved overall health and wellness, and help towards achieving a healthy body weight.
Alongside cleaning up her eating, Natalie also got into her fitness.
In 2019, she ran the London Marathon and the training saw her drop a whopping four dress sizes.
Not only did she benefit from losing weight, but the run was close to her heart as she did it in honour of her former co-star, the late Dame Barbara Windsor.
The Peggy Mitchell actress died in December 2020, after a long battle with dementia.
Marathon training is renowned for its gruelling training regimes which participants do for months before in preparation to run the 26 miles.
But it appeared Natalie’s own training was going well, as she celebrated completing an incredible 18 miles in one day.
Speaking on the podcast RunPod, she explained her running group help keep her motivated, saying: “We’ve suddenly become this little team of people and we’re so close.
“We’ve got WhatsApp groups and we go out together and we post our runs and it gives you motivation.”
With her new-found passion for nutrition and fitness, Natalie has formed a healthier relationship with her body.
Now, she feels “much more confident and comfortable” with herself, which motivates her to continue.
“I have learnt how to eat and how to be comfortable with who I am,” she said.
She showed off her slimmer figure at the National TV Awards in 2020, flaunting her new petite size in a stunning black suit.
