Vanessa Feltz is an English journalist who hosts radio shows on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio London and often appears on This Morning. She is well-known for starring in the first series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2001, and she has since been a regular guest on the spin-off shows, Big Brother’s Big Mouth, Big Brother’s Little Brother and Big Brother’s Bit on the Side. Tonight, Vanessa is taking part in the celebrity version of the quiz show, Pointless, and fans may notice she has recently slimmed down. The star has lost a whopping 3st, but how did she do it?
I’m now between a size 10 and 12, so I’ve been throughly enjoying going shopping for new clothes.
Opening up earlier this year, Vanessa explained she had lost 3st and shrunk down to a tiny size 10 to 12.
However, the former Big Brother contestant revealed she is embarrassed when anyone notices her staggering weight loss after struggling with her weight for a number of years.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, she said: “I feel a bit embarrassed when people congratulate me on the weight loss because I had surgery to get me here.
“It’s the surgeons who should be congratulated! I’m hopeful that this is the end of my battle with weight, because it’s something I’ve struggled with.”
Originally having a gastric band in 2010, the TV personality explained complications with this meant it had to be removed and Vanessa had a gastric bypass at the same time.
Speaking on This Morning, she said: “I feel like what a shame that I couldn’t just control it. Why couldn’t I say no to a piece of cake? I was never really able to get to the bottom of it.”
The TV star said she had lost weight in the past but her sweet tooth meant she struggled to keep the weight off before she opted to get the help of surgery.
“I’ve always been the same, I can lose weight but the moment I revert back to being my normal self I put it all back on,” Vanessa told OK! Magazine.
“Food is my Achilles heel, I have a sweet tooth and I consistently eat a bit too much. I barely drink alcohol, I don’t smoke and I’m a faithful partner, so I always think, if I want a cream horn or a doughnut I’m going to have one!
“I’m not proud of the fact I’ve had to have surgery to keep my weight down but unfortunately it’s the only think that works for me.”
Since losing weight, the mum-of-two revealed it has transformed her life and she now enjoys things like buying new clothes.
Vanessa said: “I keep worrying that it’s a bit too good to be true, every time I weigh myself I’m convinced I’m going to have put on weight.”
“I’m now between a size 10 and 12, so I’ve been throughly enjoying going shopping for new clothes.”
When losing weight, some people will follow a structured diet plan to help them slim, like the high-fat and low-carb keto diet.
Adding in regular exercise can also help slimmers shift any excess weight and starting slowly can help them stay motivated.
