Kat Burrows, 31, an infrastructure analyst from Basingstoke, has lost an incredible nine stone, dropping from a dress size 24 to a dress size 8, after becoming motivated to lose weight just in time for her wedding day, she shared her success story with Express.co.uk. Kat had been struggling with her weight for a number of years and revealed she was “overweight from an early age”.

At the beginning of her weight loss journey she weighed 19st 13lb but once she discovered the LighterLife diet plan her world was transformed and she dropped to a much healthier 10st 13lb.
“I’d been overweight from an early age, I even remember sneaking food out of the kitchen cupboard when I was younger,” she said. “Growing up in our house, food was always a treat, so I always associated it with happiness or for times when I needed comforting.
“This mentality followed me into my adult life, and I used food as a crutch for many of life’s obstacles.
“For far too long I stayed in a horrible relationship with someone who didn’t support me and my weight loss efforts, so I became stuck in a cycle of emotional eating.”
Kat revealed that it wasn’t until she met her current husband, Harvey, in 2016, that she felt confident enough to want to do something about her weight.
“Having someone support you unconditionally is amazing, if it wasn’t for [Harvey] I wouldn’t be the healthy and happy woman I am today,” she gushed.
“When I look to the future, I don’t worry about my weight or my health because I now have the tools to maintain my size eight figure,” she added.
The weekly group support and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) offered by the LighterLife diet plan is what Kat credits as her biggest encouragement of losing such a significant amount of weight.
She said: “Without LighterLife’s unique approach to weight loss, I would never have been able to set myself free from my repeating pattern.”
Since losing weight, Kat has been more active and has a much healthier approach and mindset to food. She said: “As a sufferer of chronic fatigue syndrome, I would fall asleep at my desk in the middle of the day, but since losing weight I have so much more energy that the effects have changed dramatically.
“LighterLife has given me this new mindset on living a healthy balanced life and a life I never thought I could have.
“I still do a double take when I catch myself in the mirror, seeing yourself slim can be quite a shock after being overweight for so long

“I’m so proud of myself for making such positive changes in my life and reaching a healthy BMI.
“[Last August] Harvey and I married, it was the most amazing day. Harvey did nothing but love and support me though my LighterLife weight-loss journey, he made me believe I was worth something and that I could do it. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
What is the LighterLife diet plan?
LighterLife is campaigning to help people live healthier and more fulfilled lives by boosting confidence, self-esteem, and belief.
The LighterLife weight loss plans combine a very low-calorie diet (VLCD) with weekly counselling.
With LighterLife, dieters get access to meal-replacement food packs – consisting of shakes, soups, mousses or bars – and slimmers eat these while on the plan, rather than conventional food.
With weekly support from a LighterLife weight loss counsellor and a variety of weekly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Mindfulness activities, Diana was able to overhaul her lifestyle.
