My all time favourite food to eat. It’s easy, quick delicious recipe. I love to have it with mint chutney and yogurt.
Ingredients
- 100 grams wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon ajwain or carom seeds
- 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon corriander powder
- Half teaspoon turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
- Water to make dough
- Oil to deep fry
Steps
Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Put 2 teaspoons oil in it. Mix it well and start adding water slowly. Knead it into a dough. Keep the dough a little hard and not get it too soft otherwise the puris will not rise and be hard and chewy. We want it soft and crispy.
After kneading heat oil in a deep thick bottom vessel. Roll the dough into round sausage like shape. Cut into equal round circles. Press each one and use rolling pin to flatten it until it’s thin.
Put puris one or two at a time depending on the size of your vessel and fry them. They will rise if you press them lightly into oil. Once you see the red colour take it out.
Once cooked serve it with savoury yogurt or mint chutney or Indian mango pickle. It just tastes so good with everything.
