Joey’s Burritos

So this recipe is one my husband created when we first got married 32 years ago.He just started putting stuff he liked together and has become a favorite dish.

  1. 2 lbs hamburger meat
  2. 1 medium white onion
  3. 4 cloves garlic chopped
  4. 1 and 1/2 whole tomato chopped
  5. 1 handful cilantro chopped
  6. 1 tsp salt
  7. 1/2 tsp black pepper
  8. 1/2 tsp Julio’s seasoning
  9. 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  10. 1 tsp chili powder
  11. Flour tortillas
  12. Avocado
  13. Sour cream
  14. 1 cup grated Cheddar Cheese

  1. Brown hamburger meat

  2. Drain most of the grease and then add the onion and chopped garlic and cook until translucent.

  3. Next add the seasonings and simmer for about 10-15 minutes. If you don’t have Julio’s seasoning, a pinch of ground cumin powder will work.

  4. Add chopped tomato and cilantro, simmer for a few minutes and then prepare burritos.

  5. We use a comal to toast the tortillas and then layer meat, avocado, cheese, sour cream, and your favorite salsa.
