Moist apple walnut squares

This was the first recipe I ever made as being a pastry chef! I was 7 or 6. (Somewhere around there). Anyway…! I love this recipe because it’s not to sweet, not bitter, not crunchy, and SUPER MOIST! Hope you love this! ??☺️

Ingredients

  1. 1 stick butter (softened)
  2. 1 cup white sugar
  3. 1 medium egg
  4. 1 cup flour (Un bleached)
  5. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  6. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  7. 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  8. 1 large Granny Smith Apple
  9. 1 cup walnuts (chopped)

Steps

  1. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. (3 minutes)

  2. Beat in egg

  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon

  4. Add the flour mixture to the creamed butter and sugar

  5. Combine well

  6. Chop and peel apple

  7. Add Apple and walnut to mixture and stir until combined

  8. Grease an 8 in square baking dish

  9. Add mixture to greased baking dish

  10. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes
