Peach cobbler

My aunt’s recipe


  1. 1 cup flour
  2. 1/4 tsp salt
  3. 1 cup sugar
  4. 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  5. 2 tsp baking powder
  6. 1/4 cup soft butter
  7. 1/2 cup milk
  8. 1 (30 oz) can sliced peaches


  1. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and Nutmeg together. Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar together until fluffy. Stir in flour mixture, alternating with milk until smooth. Pour batter in baking dish. Drain peaches, reserving 1 cup of juice. Spoon peaches evenly Over Batter. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup sugar. Poured juice slowly over all. Bake in preheated 375-degree oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until done.
