Tomato Rice

Easiest recipe which takes very less time.

Ingredients

  1. 1 Tbsp Oil –
  2. 1/2 Tsp Mustard seeds –
  3. 1/2 Tsp Urad dal –
  4. 1/2 Tsp Cumin seeds –
  5. 1 Tsp Ginger garlic paste –
  6. Onion – 1 nos
  7. Green chilli – 2 nos
  8. Tomato – 1 no
  9. Curry leaves – few
  10. 1 cup Basmati Rice –
  11. Water – as per requirement
  12. Salt – as per taste

Steps

  1. Cut the onion, tomato,green chilli and keep them ready.

  2. In a pressure cooker add oil, when hot add the spices,curry leaves, onions. Add ginger garlic paste and saute well.

  3. Once the raw smells goes away add tomatoes and then the masala powders, mix well until the oil comes out of the
    mixture.

  4. Now add water, when it starts boiling add the soaked (15 mins) and washed rice. Check for salt at this stage. Cover the pressure cooker and give 1 whistle.

  5. (Add some mint and coriander leaves if you want some really good flavor)

  6. Your simple and tastly tomato rice is ready now to enjoy with any pickle or curd. Anything of your choice.(We had it with egg)
