Where Is the Beef? Here It Is! Stir Fried Beef and Bell Peppers

My husband and I like pork more than beef. You all could see that through my recipes. Today, I am cooking with beef, just so I don’t look like a dysfunctional cook. Not for long though….
I just got a package of beef that has the most marbles on it. Cut out the best piece to make a steak later, and use the rest for stir fry. Don’t even know which parts of the cow. I have to rely on the package, but throw mine away so I just have to call it beef.

Ingredients

  1. 8 oz beef
  2. 1 1/2 TBS oyster sauce
  3. 1/2 TBS sugar
  4. 1 1/2 TBS potato starch
  5. Black pepper
  6. 1 medium sweet onion
  7. 1 TBS minced garlic
  8. 1/2 of green, yellow, orange, red bell peppers
  9. 2 TBS soy sauce
  10. 2 TBS water
  11. Oil for stir fry

Steps

  1. Cut meat into medium thin strips. Transfer to bowl. Season with sugar, oyster sauce, black pepper. Mix well. Add potato starch, mix well. Set aside.

  2. Slice onion and bell peppers into 1/3 inch thick.

  3. On high heat, put some oil into pan. Put onion and garlic in, cook for about 1 minute. Add meat. Stir fry well. You will have to use whichever convenient for you to separate the meat while stir frying it (I use chopsticks). The potato starch makes them stick together.

  4. When meat is half cooked, add bell peppers. Cook for a minute. Make a well, pour the soy sauce in, wait till bubbling, mix everything well. Put the water in to release the potato starch from the meat and also scrape the bottom of the pan to release the starch that sticks to it. The starch, with the seasoning, will coat the veggies and make them taste better.

  5. Transfer to serving plate. Serve with rice. Enjoy!
