Brits up and down the country often find themselves booking a supermarket delivery.<\/p>\n
In fact, around 43% of us are said to place a delivery from a supermarket at least once a month. With around 16% of household income being allocated to food and non-alcoholic drinks.<\/p>\n
But the cost of living continues to bite. The Office for National Statistics recently found the price of groceries increased by 14.9% in the year up to July 2023.<\/p>\n
This has left many shoppers scouring around for ways to reduce their bill as much as they can. One way can be to make sure you’re booking the best value supermarket delivery slots.<\/p>\n
READ MORE: <\/strong> Sainsbury’s recalls popular product due to possible mould contamination<\/strong><\/p>\n And with this in mind money-saving expert Richard Price owner of online supermarket\u00a0Britsuperstore\u00a0has provided\u00a0information and advice on the cheapest times and days to get your food and drink delivered.<\/p>\n He found the cheapest time to order a delivery is on a Wednesday between 9pm and 10pm. The average delivery cost around that time is \u00a32.80.<\/p>\n RIchard’s investigation found the average Sainsbury’s delivery at that time was \u00a34, with Tesco and Waitrose \u00a33, Morrison’s \u00a32.50 and Asda \u00a31.50.\u00a0<\/p>\n The average supermarket delivery costs varied too. Asda and Waitrose topped Richard’s search for the cheapest delivery, costing an average of \u00a33 per order.<\/p>\n Tesco came next, working out an average of \u00a34.37 with Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s around \u00a35. More info<\/p>\n The lowest price for delivery, Richard said, is around \u00a31.50 at Asda, offered both on Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm and 9pm to 10pm, as well as\u00a0Thursdays 5pm to 6pm and 9pm to 10pm, and Saturdays and Sundays at 9pm to 10pm. No other supermarkets even go below \u00a32.50.<\/p>\n The overall average price of delivery when taking into consideration all of the supermarkets, days, and times that the data has been collected for is \u00a34.01. While the average price for 9am to 10am across all supermarkets and days of the week is \u00a34.83, 12pm to 1p, is \u00a34.26, 5pm to 6pm is \u00a33.74, and 9pm to 10pm is \u00a33.05.<\/p>\n Waitrose and Morrison\u2019s have a minimum spend of \u00a340, Tesco charges \u00a34 extra for any delivery under \u00a340, Sainsbury\u2019s has a minimum spend of \u00a325, and Asda charges \u00a33 for deliveries under \u00a340.<\/p>\n Richard comments: “Delivery charges are subject to change week on week, but they do largely remain at stable and consistent rates.
