Christmas turkeys, both fresh and frozen, have seen a steep price increase again this year.<\/p>\n

According to data by The Grocer and analysts Assosia, price hikes of at least 10 percent were seen across 13 of the 21 frozen whole, and crown lines on sale last month in the traditional \u201cbig four\u201d supermarkets.<\/p>\n

Budget retailer Aldi saw the biggest jump with its Specially Selected turkey crown (1.8kg) which now costs \u00a324.99, up from \u00a319.99 in 2022.<\/p>\n

A small Oakhurst whole British turkey (4kg), also sold by Aldi took second place with the most inflated price. It’s 17.7 percent more expensive than a year ago.<\/p>\n

However, it\u2019s not all bad news as the budget retailer still remains the cheapest for this festive essential when comparing prices.<\/p>\n

Cheapest places to buy a fresh Turkey<\/h3>\n

Shopping around is definitely worth it for those looking to save money as price points can vary between \u00a316 and \u00a385 depending on the supermarket.<\/p>\n

That said, three retailers have topped the ranking as the cheapest for fresh turkeys at less than \u00a34 per kilogram.<\/p>\n

Lidl & Aldi<\/strong><\/p>\n

Those who prefer a fresh Christmas Turkey should head to their nearest Lidl or Aldi store from December 19 to bag a bargain at \u00a33.75 per kilogram.<\/p>\n
