Mary Berry’s indulgent chocolate steamed pudding

Chocolate has been a universally favourite food for thousands of years – with civilisations as old as the Olmec enjoying its flavour.

Now, to commemorate the ongoing Sky Candy Emporium experience set up by lastminute.com onboard London Eye, an expert shared her tips to better savour the taste of your favourite chocolate.

She told Express.co.uk: “The chocolate-tasting experience that guests will get aboard the lastminute.com London Eye’s Sky Candy Emporium will truly tantalise their tastebuds.

“But for anyone that can’t get along before it finishes on Sunday there’s lots of exciting experiments you can do to play around with chocolate’s flavour at home.

“For example, if you aren’t a big fan of dark chocolate because of its sharpness, try sprinkling a little sea salt on top to reduce the bitterness and make it taste sweeter.

“Or, if it’s all getting too sweet, you can try pairing milk chocolate with acidic fruits like passionfruit or pineapple to provide the perfect sour/sweet experience”

Other methods include letting it melt in the mouth versus chewing, as it allows the chocolate to coat your mouth and will intensify the flavours and enjoyment.

A fact many may not be aware of is that chocolate tastes better with a fresh palate, and thus the morning presents the perfect time to enjoy it.

Additionally, chocolate contains caffeine so can help keep you going through till lunchtime without the need for coffee.
