Chicken Shop launches unique new food combo – fried chicken with Oreo

Biscuit brand OREO has created its most unexpected combo yet – by pairing the iconic cookie with fried chicken. To capitalise on a growing social media trend that’s seen cookie lovers dipping it in custard or ice cream, or wrapping them in bacon, a new collaboration has been realised.

The popular biscuit has partnered with Chicken Shop, to give away freebies to thousands of customers in September.

They include The O Fries – sweet and salty fries made with a seasoning combining salt, pepper, and garlic with crushed OREO crumb.

Or those with bold tastes can try The Big Twist Burger, a classic fried chicken burger layered with nacho cheese, smoky chipotle mayo, and an exclusive Mexican-inspired mole sauce made with a cookie crumb, in a burnt chocolate charcoal bun – so it even resembles a giant cookie.

Traditionalists can also enjoy a Twist & Shake – a milkshake made with OREO crumb, combining crushed cookie pieces with Chicken Shop’s iconic chocolate sauce.

Katya Savelieva, from the cookie brand, said: “We have absolutely loved seeing all the weird, wonderful, and unexpected ways that our fans have been twisting up how they eat their cookies, so felt inspired to come up with an unexpected twist of our own.

“We know it’s a little crazy, but we promise this collaboration menu will surprise you – so don’t miss your chance to try it for yourself.”

The limited edition #OREOtwist meal will be available from Friday 1st September to Sunday 3rd September, from 11am to 12.30pm, at all six Chicken Shop restaurants – on Baker Street, in Islington, Notting Hill Gate, Putney, Soho, and Camden.

Each day, 150 meals will be up for grabs for free at every location, on a first come first served basis.

Katie McNeilage, from Chicken Shop, added: “Our expert food team love to create mind-blowing flavours, and they’ve invented a shockingly good, limited-edition menu using our delicious fried chicken and much-loved OREOs.

“We’re so proud of how good it tastes – it really works, and we can’t wait for fried chicken lovers to enjoy our delicious fried chicken in a completely new and surprising way.”

Customers can claim one meal a day, while stocks last, and will be given a ticket number to exchange for their #OREOtwist meal, consisting of 1x burger, 1x fries, and 1x shake per customer (shakes not available at Soho).
